District 99 has maintained close communication with government and health officials in regards to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
During a press conference on Friday, March 20th, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker formally announced his decision to issue a statewide "stay at home" order for all Illinois residents to limit the spread of the coronavirus. In addition, the governor extended the statewide school closures through April 7.

District 99's Communications team will review all entries and choose the strongest ones to share on the District's website, Facebook and Twitter.
Whether chatting virtually with their teachers, working on a fun STEAM project, or practicing math and reading, we want to see how your children are continuing to ignite the road to excellence and keeping their brains busy while working from home!
We can't wait to show the community that together, in the face of adversity, the District 99 community continues to demonstrate innovation in education for children across Cicero!

UPDATE: Two people affiliated with District 99 diagnosed with COVID-19
On Tuesday, March 24, the District was alerted that there were two confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the District 99 community — one affiliated with Warren Park Elementary School, and one affiliated with Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. The families are following the quarantine guidelines of the Illinois Department of Public Health, and all appropriate agencies have been notified. District 99 continues to encourage families to self-isolate through stay-at-home measures.

We are not at liberty to share additional information due to the confidential nature of individuals' health records. We ask that you reach out to your health care provider on general guidance on how to proceed, if you have specific concerns related to potential contact and/or symptoms.
***MEAL PLAN INFORMATION***
District 99 WILL NOT be providing meals for students during Spring Break which takes place
Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3.

Despite school closures and interruptions to everyday life, District 99 remains committed to the health and well-being of its students and families. The District will continue working in partnership with the Town of Cicero and Cicero first responders to ensure a community-wide effort to support the families of Cicero.
