The Town Of Cicero

Cicero Town President Larry Dominick, along with trustees Maria Punzo-Arias, Fran Reitz, Joe Virruso, Emilio Cundari, Larry Banks, Victor Garica, Bob Porod, and John Cava, continuously work together to make sure District 99 students, families and staff have the resources and opportunities needed to continue igniting the road to excellence.



To demonstrate strong partnership with both the Town of Cicero and families across the community, dozens of administrators, teachers and staff from District 99 turn out for Cicero's annual Mexican Independence Day celebration.

Cicero also hosts a four-day weekend event at Cicero Community Park which includes carnival rides, food booths, folkloric music and cultural performances, and a fireworks show. District 99 representatives operate a booth every year to give away District swag.



be365 体育投注Students, faculty and families travel down Cermak Road from 54th Avenue in Cicero to Riverside Drive in Berwyn to patricipate in the annual Houby Day Parade.

Houby Fest began in 1968 as a celebration of the Berwyn-Cicero area's Czech and Slovak heritage, and has grown into an annual harvest and cultural celebration that bring thousands of people to the community.

The weekend-long festival draws thousands of people from across Chicagoland to experience different cultural foods, visit vendors, create arts and crafts, shop at sidewalk sales and meet the Houby Queen.

In recent years, the biggest attractions for the festival is the half-mile long carnival and live musical performances.




Every summer, Town President Larry Dominick and the Department of Special Events hosts Cicero's American Fest Celebration at the Cicero Fairgrounds with drinks, food, music and fireworks.

District 99 always has an outreach tent at the fest, where kids can win District swag.


Every week during the summer, the Town of Cicero hosts its annual Summer In The Park Series and highlight different themes.

District 99 is proud to host STEAM week where families spend time engaging in interactive science, technology, engineering, art and math activities. 


District 99 believes it is important to help others when they need it the most. Whether helping raise funds, sell raffle prizes, provide entertainment or just be a presence, District 99 is here to help.

be365 体育投注District 99 believes students and staff need to understand the importance of giving back to elders. Seniors' tax dollars help fund Cicero schools, and interactions with seniors show students a great amount of appreciation for thanking those who have lived in Cicero for years. 


Every spring, District 99 students, staff and board members collaborate with Town President Larry Dominick, Town Assessor Emilio Cundari and Cicero business partners and leaders for the Town's annual spring cleanup week.

be365 体育投注In appreciation of all the work Cicero's Parent Patrol volunteers do for the children and families of the town, District 99 and the Town of Cicero host luncheons from them twice a year. 

Since the program's first celebration in 2009, Parent Patrol has grown from seven parents to now over 300. 

Cicero Police Department

be365 体育投注Police Superintendent Jerry Chlada Jr. and the Cicero Police Department work together with District 99 to keep Cicero children safe every day. 

Whether paroling Cicero streets or visiting Cicero schools, the department's No. 1 goal is ensuring Cicero children, families, and teachers know the police department is only a phone call away. 


be365 体育投注Operation Santa is an initiative between the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation (ISPHF) and Walmart designed to surprise children living in lower-income areas with presents and a dose of holiday cheer. 

be365 体育投注The event starts with a parade outside of a District 99 school, with Illinois State Police and Cicero Police Department squad cards, Cicero Fire Department trucks and Santa and Mrs. Claus making their grand entrance by motorcycle. 

Throughout the day, classrooms take turn visiting the gym for snacks, crafts, present opening and pictures with Santa.


District 99 is proud to participate with the Town Of Cicero and Town President Larry Dominick for the annual National Night Out — an annual community-building campaign that promotes police/community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make Cicero a safer, more caring place to live.

National Night Out provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee

Frank Aguilar and the Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee partner with District 99 when it comes to getting in touch with Cicero residents' Mexican heritage and share the rich culture and history with Cicero  through educational and civic events.

Events District 99 helps partner with include Day Of The Dead, Christmas Posada and Day Of The Child.

Hundreds of local families turn out for an evening of seasonal fun, with traditional nativity reenactments, photos with Santa, food, raffles and music.

District 99 helps provide musical entertainment, displays student artwork, and host an information booth where District branded prizes are given away.

Continuing Education

J. Sterling Morton High School

be365 体育投注J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 is Cicero's public high school district, providing inspiration and enrichment to Cicero students through opportunities and resources supportive to their educational experiences.

Morton partners with District 99 for the District's annual Back To School Fair, with various student groups visiting and performing for the students of schools the high schoolers once attended in District 99.

Morton College

Morton College, the second oldest community college in Illinois, was founded in 1924 to meet the educational demands in the growing communities of Berwyn, Cicero, Forest View, Lyons, McCook and Stickney. 

As a comprehensive community college that is recognized by the Illinois Community College Board, Morton College's mission is to enhance the quality of life of our diverse community through exemplary teaching and learning opportunities, community service and life-long learning.

Other Community Partners

Fire Chief Dominick Buscemi and the entire Cicero Fire Department work tirelessly to teach Cicero students, educators and community members  the importance of fire safety. 

The department always hosts field trips for Cicero schools to come and visit the various fire stations around town, participate in school's career days, and is a key sponsor in the District's Back To School Fair

be365 体育投注Director Sandra Tomschin and the Cicero Public Library have joined forces with District 99 to remind parents and students that signing up for a library card is the first step toward academic achievement and lifelong learning.

The library is also a place where patrons can see District 99 students' artwork throughout the year. 


The Cicero Community Outreach Department serves as a hub of information and support for the Cicero community. The organization is continuously looking for new and creative ways to expand resources, programs, and support to Cicero residents. 

The department uses several District 99 schools to host their  and run their "Unify Friday" open gym program at Unity Junior High School every Friday from 6-9 p.m.

The A.E.M. Boys Club Of Cicero enables all young people — especially those who need them the most — to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens by keeping kids on track, ensuring kids are healthy and fit, and developing future leaders.

The club provides a safe place to learn and grow with ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences. 

Corazon Community Services' mission is to improve the quality of life for children, youth and families through holistic social services offered in a culturally sensitive environment. 

The organization hosts its Teen REACH academic after-school program at Unity Junior High School to inspire cultural awareness, develop and strengthen mentoring and leadership skills, while engaging in life skills activities and promoting parental involvement.

be365 体育投注Due to the historical success of the Cicero Youth Task Force, and the new energy and resources provided by the Cicero Neighborhood Network Project, the Cicero Community Collaborative was founded in 2017.

be365 体育投注Through the merger of ideas, talent and a shared passion to improve Cicero, the new collaborative intends to be an active response to many of the challenges facing local youth and families.

Giving Back

be365 体育投注UCP Seguin is a Cicero-based nonprofit which serves individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities from the Cicero/Berwyn area and across the near-west suburbs. Services include full-time group homes, life skills training programs, and day field trips and activities programs.

District 99 believes in giving back to its community partners, so District students enjoy performing holiday concerts and making crafts with the Seguin residents. 

Each year during the holiday season, District 99 students raise money to purchase toys for local children in need and bring them over to the Salvation Army's Templo-Laramie location in Cicero.
